The most popular tourist guide book publisher Lonely Planet have named Belgrade and Serbia as one of the TOP TEN destinations Best to visit in 2015!
Prior to the World Travel Market WTM 2014 in London, Lonely Planet have organized an event in the London Transport Museum yesterday when representatives of National Tourist Board of Serbia and Belgrade Tourist Board received an award for the 7th place on the Lonely Planet’s Top Ten list.
“Presentation of Belgrade and Serbia started yesterday and will be continued throughout the WTM. Within the promotion, we will present everything Belgrade has to offer: culture, history, events, conventions and City Break for international travelers.” Said Tijana Maljkovic, assistant to Secretariat of Economy of the City of Belgrade, adding that this award contributes to the increase in tourism arrivals to Serbian capital.
Lonely Planet is the largest publisher of tourist guides in the world, which makes the award very significant. Lonely Planet website was launched in 1996, and is currently used by 600.000 travelers around the globe, while print editions are available since 2009.
