Promotion of Belgrade in Vienna

Within annual promotional activities on the international markets, Tourist Organization of Belgrade hosted the event in Vienna “Visit Belgrade – We Live Next Door.

Promotion of Belgrade in Vienna was a whole day event which will gathered city officials of both cities, representatives of tourist industry and media in order to present Belgrade as a tourist destination, culture, heritage, gastronomy and festivals to Austrian travelers and public.

Event was officially opened with the speeches of Mr. Pero Jankovic, Ambassador of Republic of Serbia in Vienna, Anica Macka Dojder, Member of the City Council of the City of Vienna, and Mr. Miodrag Popovic, Director of the Belgrade Tourist Board. Presentation of Air Serbia followed, as well as “Creative Belgrade” by Maja Lalic from Mikser organization.

In the Johan Strauss Hall visitors were introduced to the selection of Belgrade tourist offer, diverse cultural heritage, hotels (Falkensteiner Belgrade, Jump Inn, Life Design, Radisson Blu Old Mill), gastronomy, sports, city tours and festivals which will be held this year in the Serbian Capital. Costumed curator of the Museum of the City of Belgrade promoted the tourist tour At the coffee with Princess Ljubica, while the popular bohemian quarter Skadarlija was presented by the performance of the “Skadarlian Lady”.

For this occasion, Serbian restaurant from Vienna “Koliba” prepared degustation of traditional food, while Rakia Bar Vienna branch served traditional drinks and cocktail refreshments. Association of wine makers “Srpska vina” offered a degustation of local wines. Among other exhibitors, visitors were introduced to City of Novi Sad, Gallery Babka from Kovacica, Sport Center Arena, Yachting Klub Kej, Paun Souvenirs and popular festivals, Mikser, Beer Fest and Fish Fest.

Performance of woman string quartet “Intermezzo” accompanied the event with interpretations of famous songs about Belgrade and Strauss’ Serbian Quadrille, while Plug In band promoted Belgrade Beer Fest with their electronic music performance.

Visitors had the opportunity to participate in a quiz game and win Weekend in Belgrade.

On Saturday May 30th popular Belgrade summer event Beer Fest was presented to Viennese at the club Paliffy Scandalous Party with the performance of Belgrade DJ’s Mr Zorba and N.I.K.O.
