Exhibition - Nebojša Rakonjac

The Boy and the Sun

Tourist Organization of Belgrade

Exhibition opening on Wednesday 6th of June 2012 at 8 pm, Kosančićev venac 20.

We are happy to announce that the Wine & Art Gallery U PODRUMU (Art gallery In the cellar) has started a cooperation with the Sales Art Gallery Belgrade, whose half a century long tradition in promoting art, sales of art and organization of exhibitions, guarantees future success and quality of exhibitions in the beautiful exhibition space of the U Podrumu gallery.

In Kosančićev venac, one of the oldest parts of the city which gathers for centuries artists and art lovers, will be organized, on the occasion of the new cooperation between two galleries and art exhibition opening, a cocktail at which wines from the Radenkovic cellar will be served accompanied by the sounds of Bossa Nova jazz.

About the artist

Nebojša Rakonjac was born in Belgrade in 1970. He graduated from the painting department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Belgrade. He is a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 2002. He exhibited in several independent and group exhibitions in Serbia and abroad.

About the exhibition

The series of paintings "The Boy and the Sun" is a sort of luminous diary, a notebook, and a study revealing subtle secrets of everyday scenes. At second glance the revealed world brings an infinite play of color in the purest vibration of the solar spectrum. Lights and shadows are the main motives of Nebojsa’s paintings. Following closely their dance, he presents us, in all its strangeness and magic, an ordinary summer day.
