„The Parade“ with English subtitles

Tourist Organization of Belgrade

It is our great pleasure to announce the arrival of Srdjan Dragojevic’s latest feature film “The Parade” in Belgrade’s top venue Cineplexx (Delta City shopping-mall) where it will be shown from December 8 with English subtitles.

The film, already seen by more than 200,000 movie aficionados, features some of the best actors from the region, including Nikola Kojo, Milos Samolov, Goran Jevtic, Hristina Popovic, Mladen Andrejevic, Natasa Markovic, Goran Navojec, Toni Mihajlovski, Dejan Acimovic, and Relja Popovic.

LEMON, a former judo champion, a petty criminal and a war hero, came out a loser from Serbia’s transition decade – just like many other everyday people. His small security agency caters for transition “winners”: tycoons and show business fake celebrities. Lemon’s fiancée, PEARL, who runs a beauty parlor wants to have a posh “designer” wedding, to keep in line with the nouveau riche society. Lemon reluctantly agrees, so he and Pearl meet Mirko, a failed theatre director, and another transition loser forced to design weddings instead of great theatrical performances. Mirko is also a gay activist who believes that holding Gay Pride will improve the rights of LBGT community. Mirko’s partner RADMILO, a successful veterinarian, disapproves his activism and believes it is best to let the sleeping dogs lie. The first contact between the “two worlds” finishes – as expected – in brutal showdown. Frustrated by the violence against her new friends, Pearl threatens to leave Lemon. As for Mirko, who holds Canadian immigration visa, the experience with Lemon was just what he needed to become convinced that he should leave the country forever. But Radmilo comes with a plan that could save everyone – Lemon’s agency will protect the Pride, and Mirko will organize the wedding. Mortified by the idea of teaming up with gays, Lemon’s partners “proudly” refuse to have anything to do with this venture, leaving him on the dry and forcing him to look for alternative solutions…
