Mećavnik
The Mećavnik ethno village located in Mokra Gora, in the west of Serbia between Zlatibor and Tara, was built by the famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica.
Authentic log cabins in Mećavnik, partially relocated from other villages, were built in a style specific for this part of Serbia. Each log cabin has a unique external design and bears the name of its original owner. The hand-made furniture, pieces of art and embroidered curtains within the log cabins provide a warm and intimate atmosphere. All rooms have individual bathrooms and are equipped with plasma TV sets and telephones. Walking around Mećavnik, you will come across a church, some restaurants, a souvenir shop, an artisan shop and the Underground cinema.
The streets have the names of renowned individuals in the world of culture, science and sports, such as Ivo Andrić, Ernest Che Guevara, Diego Maradona, Miodrag Petrović Čkalja, Fellini and Bergman. A street shall soon be given the name of the famous Serbian tennis player Novak Đoković.
In addition to the traditional charm and beautiful sights of Mećavnik, you may also enjoy the exciting ride on the famous old steam trains Ćira and Šarganska osmica.
