Jevremovac Botanical Gardens

The botanical garden is located in the very heart of Belgrade, within the territory of the Stari grad municipality, between the Despot Stefan Boulevard and the Takovska, Dalmatinska, Palmotićeva and Vojvode Dobrnjca streets.

Tourist Organization of Belgrade

It covers an area of 5 hectares and is part of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Belgrade. The open environment contains approximately 300 trees and bushes of local, European and exotic varieties. The garden is a category II natural treasure and is protected as a cultural monument.

This beautiful green ambient is also home to a greenhouse, as well as the Library of the Institute of Botany, the Herbarium, lecture halls and laboratories. The greenhouse was built in 1892 (approximately 500 m²) and it was one of the largest and most beautiful in this part of Europe at the time. Nearly 1,000 tropical and subtropical plant species are being raised there. Due to its architectural value the glasshouse is protected by law. The botanical garden is open to visitors between 9 AM and 7 PM. The address is Takovska 43.
