Wooded and beautifully designed Topčider Park in the valley of the Topčider River is found on the edge of former woods, after which this Northern part of Serbia has been named, Šumadija (Šuma – Wood). In Topčider, Prince Miloš built during the 1830s his residence, which was the center of political power and Belgrade’s educational, religious and cultural life.
