The Museum of Jovan Cvijić

The Memorial Museum of Jovan Cvijić is set up in the house in which this great geographer and scholar lived and worked. This edifice with its surrounding gardens was built in 1905 as per his own sketches and wishes and reflects the spirit of the beginning of the 20th century. Each detail of the house interior was designed in the Secession style and is enriched with elements of Serbian national applied arts. The interiors of the drawing room and bedroom of Cvijić’s wife Ljubica are authentic. The remaining portion of the building houses an exhibition dedicated to the life, numerous travels and research of our great scholar.

The exhibition encompasses a representative portion of the legacy Jovan Cvijić left behind, including his manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, books, items of applied arts, paintings, personal effects, documents and authentic furniture.
